This week we are wrapping up the Fall Semester of Gateway Groups. Looking back this has been a very unique season in the life of The Gateway Church.
Over these past few months we have explored the vision and values of our church in Resurrection Culture; immersed ourselves in the Psalms to discover more of the mind and heart of Jesus; and have recently begun looking at one of the most important and ancient Creeds of the Christian church.
We launched the Apprenticeship Guilds with tremendous success as each week dozens of people meet together in an intentional pursuit of spiritual growth and discipleship.
Our Missional Communities have reached out into our city in a multitude of ways - cleaning up Central Campus, sorting clothes at the Hope Ministries thrift shop, bringing blankets and supplies to the unsheltered in our city through JOPPA, and preparing and serving literally hundreds of meals for teachers, children, and homeless friends throughout the city!
We’ve worshipped together, broken bread together, prayed together, laughed together, and played flag-football together. Friendships have been forged, marriages have been strengthened, and cookies have been exchanged! It’s been a wonderful Semester!
Of course, this has also been a season of significant change, and yet in the midst of the challenges of transition our members have truly stepped up to the plate, volunteering in new ways and in every level. As a result our Ministry Teams have never been stronger!
At Gateway our dream is to be a church of small groups - meeting together throughout the city for prayer, laughter, Bible study, and service to those in need then gathering on Sundays to share how the kingdom of God has become a reality in our lives. Thank you for being a part of that story this semester!
