The transition from adolescence to adulthood is full of dramatic change. But Gateway recognizes that what matters most, ultimately, is how Christ works in each student during this key life season.
This year our 5th and 6th graders have journeyed through Foundations - a class designed to cover the basics of the Christian faith and to help them transition gracefully and peacefully into middle school.
Historically the church has encouraged children, when they are ready and have been prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive a blessing by the laying on of hands by the elders.
On Sunday, May 27 we will be recognizing our Foundations students in front of the congregation. Our goal for this morning is to help students know that they have sisters and brothers in Christ who love and support them, that they are a vital part of the Body of Christ, and that they are capable of embracing their calling not someday, but now.
